Hello, I’m Rose Blair, founder of The Right Start Early Years Consultancy. My journey spans 38 years in education, mostly in the Early Years Foundation Stage. I started out as a teacher with my latest role being an Early Years Adviser for the country’s largest schools company. My career began in Tottenham in the mid-80s, a time of relative curriculum freedom, a time before the National Curriculum and Ofsted’s inception. After a fabulous 13 years in Tottenham, my family moved to Hertfordshire. I evolved into an Early Years leader in my school, gained an MA (dist) in Early Years education and became a Leading Teacher and a Specialist Leader in Education through a local teaching school. Then, after more than 8 years as an EY adviser, I honed expertise not only across all elements of the EYFS but with a developing specialism in literacy, including taking the lead in impactful reading projects. Life took a turn with the pandemic. I found a new home in Yorkshire and during long commutes to Hertfordshire, The Right Start Early Years Consultancy emerged first in my mind and subsequently has become a reality!
