Playdough has been a staple resource in the Early Years since, well ever since I can remember! Since I was in the earliest days of my teaching career I have made my own playdough in many and varied forms for children to use.

I imagine many practitioners and parents have done the same…however, there is recent new guidance from the Food Standards Agency which has cast some doubt in peoples minds about the use of flour, which of course is the main ingredient of home-made playdough. Even my daughter, a new mum was concerned about its use in some gorgeous ‘play sand’ at a babies activity class we attended.
